Understanding the Individualized Education Program (IEP) for Families

The Greater Johnstown School District would like to make you aware of a regional opportunity to learn more about the Individualized Education Program (IEP) for families. There are two online sessions – Thursday, February 3 (6-8 p.m.) and Thursday, March 3 (12:30 – 2:30 p.m.). Pre-registration is required (see below) and sign-ups will close two days before each session.

The presentations provide parents, family members, and caregivers an overview of the process for developing an Individualized Education Program (IEP) using a collaborative approach. Participants will be guided through a review of the areas of the IEP and the information that parents, family members, and/or caregivers can share with the Committee on Special Education (CSE) regarding their child’s performance and disability related needs.

Participants will gain an understanding of the components of an IEP and the role that parents and family members have in the development of an IEP.
