2024-25 Pre-K and Kindergarten Registration

The Greater Johnstown School District began its open enrollment period for pre-kindergarten and kindergarten students for the 2024-2025 school year on March 4, 2024.

To be eligible to apply for pre-K, children must be at least four years old on or before December 1, 2024. To be eligible to register for kindergarten, children must be at least five years old on or before December 1, 2024.

Pre-k and kindergarten at GJSD are full day programs. There are 54 slots available for the 2024-2025 pre-K program.

PRE-KINDERGARTEN – Anyone who turned in a pre-kindergarten application on or before Wednesday, April 10 has secured a spot for their child in the pre-K program at GJSD for the 2024-25 school year. There will be no lottery.

There are limited pre-K spots still available. Any applications turned in after April 10 will be processed on a “first-come, first-served” basis until spots are filled. Once spots are filled, applications will continue to be processed on a “first-come, first-served” basis for the pre-K wait list.

KINDERGARTEN – If you have not yet registered your child for kindergarten for the 2024-2025 school year, we ask that you do so as soon as possible so that we can schedule kindergarten screening for your child in EARLY JUNE.

If your child attended pre-K in Johnstown for the 2023-24 school year, they are automatically registered for kindergarten for the 2024-25 school year. You do NOT need to register them.

If you have any questions about pre-K or kindergarten registration, please do not hesitate to contact:
