New Student Registration
Registration for all new students must be completed at the District Office located in the high school building. In order to register a new student, residency in the Greater Johnstown School District must be verified. The residency verification form and all necessary registration forms are available on the forms page, or the forms can be obtained and completed at the Registration Office. Proof of residency must be provided using one of the following:
- Current utility bill
- Lease Agreement
- Copy of Purchase Contract
- Copy of deed
- Letter from attorney (including date/time of closing)
After completing the residency information, you will be asked to complete a Registration form, a Request for Records and a Home Language Questionnaire (find forms on forms page). We request that you bring the following paperwork with you:
- Child’s Birth Certificate
- Child’s Immunization Record
- Custody Paperwork (if applicable)
- Child’s IEP (if applicable)
- Name, address and phone number for previous school district
Any incomplete paperwork will need to be obtained as soon as possible.
2020-2021 Pre-Kindergarten and Kindergarten
The Greater Johnstown School District is accepting online and paper registration for new Pre-Kindergarten and Kindergarten students for the 2020-21 school year. Please note that due to the Coronavirus pandemic and the closure of our buildings, there are no walk-in registrations at this time. We know that this process is new for many families. Current 2019-2020 Pre-Kindergarten students enrolled at Johnstown, do not need to complete the registration process for Kindergarten in 2020-2021.
Directions for registering pre-kindergarten or kindergarten students online:
First, please complete the online registration application at the following link: https://schooltool9.neric.org/SchoolTool_JOHN/OnlinePreRegistration/
Parents will be contacted once their online registration application has been reviewed via email. Please be sure to provide the district with a working email address that you review frequently and would like to receive future communication from the district.
You should hear from the district within two-business days by email with directions to complete the registration process online. If not, please contact the district registrar by email at email@example.com or by phone at 518-762-4611 ext. 3117.
Directions for registering for pre-k or kindergarten with paper documents (if you cannot register online)
Registration documents (paper) may be picked up at the food distribution site (Front of Johnstown High School) from 10:30 a.m. – 12 p.m. on Mondays and Wednesdays. Packets will be available for pickup beginning May 11.
Copies of completed registration documents (see list below) may be dropped off in a sealed envelope at the food distribution site (front of Johnstown High School) from 10:30 a.m. – 12 p.m. on Mondays and Wednesdays.
- All Completed registration forms
- Copies of 2 Proofs of Address
- Copy of Parent ID
- Copy of Birth Certificate
- Copy of Immunization Record
- Copy of IEP (if applicable)
- Copy of Custody Court Order (if Applicable)
