The Greater Johnstown School District has the following anticipated vacancies for the 2021-22 school year:

Vacant Certified Positions (Administrators, Teachers and Teaching Assistants)

  • Six Grant-funded Instructional Technology Coaches (1 at Pleasant, 2 at Warren, 2 at JJSHS, 1 for SPED K-12). Stipend: $500 flat rate (grant-funded) Purpose: The Instructional Technology Coaches will work with colleagues to support student learning through the integration of technology. The Instructional Technology Coaches will focus on technology-centered professional development online and in physical settings. Ideal candidates are: Proficient and experienced integrating Google Apps, Promethean technology, Chromebooks and other learning technologies into instruction; Able to provide instruction and feedback to colleagues; and Comfortable presenting to staff and developing screencast videos. Position Requirements: Each Instructional Technology Coach will provide a minimum of one training per quarter. Instructional Technology Coaches will provide informal instructional technology support to colleagues as needed.   • Six Data Coaches (Grant Funded, $2,500 stipend per position) – 3 at JJSHS, 2 at Warren, 1 at Pleasant. ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Develop protocols for reviewing data sets (academic, attendance, SEL, and family engagement) as identified in DCIP and SCEP; Analysis of data sets; Train building staff on protocols for reviewing data; Work with CST to analyze student progress and effectiveness of interventions; Attend trainings related to data sets (ie. Attendance Works, Tableau, etc.); Participate in ESSA Committee meetings. Required qualifications for coaching positions:

NYS Education Department fingerprint clearance; valid first aid/CPR certification; Heads-up Concussion Management training; and one of the following:

  • NYS Physical Education Teacher Certification OR
  • Other NYS Teacher Certification and applicable coaching courses* OR
  • NYS Coaching License, Child Abuse Identification Workshop, School Violence Intervention and Prevention Workshop, DASA (Dignity for All Students) training and applicable coaching courses*

*Required coaching courses: Philosophy, Principles of Organization of Athletics (within 2 years); Health Aspects of Coaching (within 5 years); Theory & Techniques (within 5 years)

Classified Openings (Building & Grounds, Clerical Staff, Custodians, Food Service Workers, Nurses and Teacher Aides)

  • Substitute Food Service Helpers. Prior food service experience preferred but not required.
  • Substitute Nurses. High school diploma or equivalent and current valid nursing license required.
  • Substitute Secretaries. High school diploma or equivalent and 1 year of clerical experience required.
  • Substitute Teacher Aides. High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Substitute Custodial Workers. Prior building cleaning experience preferred but not required.
