Update as of January 24, 2022

UPDATE ON GUIDANCE FOR CONTACT TRACING & QUARANTINE

The District learned late last week that  the Fulton County Health Department updated their COVID-19 guidance regarding contact tracing, and quarantine protocol.  Therefore, they are now in alignment with the Center for Disease Control (CDC), and the New York State Department of Health guidance. Specifically:

  • Fulton County Health Department has discontinued the requirement for schools to contact trace, and has shifted the focus to case investigation of positive cases of COVID-19.  Beginning immediately, the GJSD will discontinue contact tracing.
  • The Greater Johnstown School District will also continue to provide expanded, onsite diagnostic testing services for GJSD staff and students, and will also continue to investigate COVID-19 positive cases occurring within the school setting.
  • Please be sure to review ParentSquare communications regarding COVID-19 testing availability whenever they are sent.

Please utilize the following resources in the event that you have been exposed to someone who has tested positive for COVID-19, or if you have tested positive for COVID-19. Please continue to seek advice from your primary healthcare provider in the event you are experiencing potential symptoms of COVID-19.

County health departments have established websites containing information on isolation and quarantine, and for self-reporting. Also, attestation forms* (formal declaration) for isolation and quarantine are available on these websites to complete and submit to the health department and to provide to your employer, if required.
