KNOX FIELD TRACK & TURF CLOSED TO THE PUBLIC BEGINNING JUNE 25, 2023
Important maintenance and reconstruction improvements are scheduled for this summer that will ensure that Knox Field will remain in excellent condition and a source of pride for the District for many years to come.
Therefore, Knox Field track and turf stadium area will be temporarily closed to the public beginning Sunday, June 25, 2023 for renovation of the track running surface and its surrounding chain link fencing as part of the small capital project approved by voters on May 17, 2022. The work is projected to be completed by mid-September, 2023 and will reopen to the public at that time.
The project addresses several necessary updates to our Knox Field track and turf area. To date, the turf field has been substantially replenished and structurally restored. This summer, the track and chain link fencing around it will be addressed:
- renovation of the track running surface,
- replacement of the chain link fence around the field,
It is expected the project will be quite involved, but fully complete by late fall 2023. Updates will be provided as the work progresses.
