Petrie Creates PSA and Wins Scholarship

Ms. Petrie holding her story boardCongratulations to GJSD student Isabelle Petrie for being selected as the high school winning representative for the Vision Council PSA contest held on WeAreTeachers.com!

Ms. Petrie designed and submitted her PSA (Public Service Announcement) to remind and encourage others to practice proper eye care. She utilized her artistic creativity and writing skills to submit her winning PSA. Only two awards are announced each year in the United States (one from a middle school and one from a high school). As the winning high school candidate, Ms. Petrie will receive a $1,500 college scholarship and her PSA entry will be made into a video for Think About Your Eyes. Such a great honor and achievement! Great things are happening throughout the GJSD!
