Each year the Johnstown Teachers Association (JTA) collects new books and monetary donations from its generous members for their “Books for Babies” initiative. The goal of the program is to promote early literacy skills and family bonding for children before they enter school.

This year, over $200 worth of books were purchased through monetary donations, and nearly 100 books were donated to the Nathan Littauer Hospital Maternity Ward from JTA representatives Stephanie Di Visconti (school counselor at Pleasant Ave. & Warren St.) and Alaina Stokna (kindergarten teacher).
