Nominating Petitions available for Board of Education Candidates

On May 21, 2024, voters in the Greater Johnstown School District will elect three board of education members to serve three year terms, from July 1, 2024 to June 30, 2027.

Community members interested in running for a seat on the GJSD Board of Education must file a nominating petition, signed by at least 100 qualified voters, in the District Clerk’s Office by 5:00 p.m. on May 1, 2024. To be eligible to serve, board members must be U.S. citizens, at least 18 years old, qualified voters in the school district, and able to read and write. They must be a resident of the district continuously for one year before the election. They cannot be employees of the Board.

Beginning Monday, March 4, nominating petitions may be requested by contacting the District Clerk by telephone at 518-762-4611 ext. 3119, or by email to lcarpenter@johnstownschools.org.
