Community Swim

The newly renovated pool at Johnstown High School will be open for community members to enjoy from 9:00 – 11:00 a.m. on Saturday mornings between February 29 – May 30, 2020 (excluding school vacations, holiday weekends and inclement weather days). All children MUST be accompanied by a parent or guardian.

Please note that the pool will not be open for Community Swim during school breaks (Thanksgiving, Christmas, winter break or spring break). Community swim may also be canceled in the event of inclement weather (announcements will be posted to the school website, Twitter and/or Facebook when possible).

Pool History

Johnstown residents approved the construction of an indoor pool at Johnstown High School in March, 1975 and an official Dedication Ceremony took place on April 30, 1977. In December 2014 voters approved a district-wide capital project that included total renovation/replacement of the nearly 40-year-old pool. Reconstruction was completed in the summer of 2018.

The facility is used for physical education aquatics classes,  the Fo-Jo (Fonda-Johnstown) swim team and Johnstown’s summer recreation program. Check back here regularly for information regarding upcoming events at the pool, including Family Fun Nights and Community Swim!
