Kline and Stock re-elected to Board of Education
On Tuesday, May 20, the Greater Johnstown School District community approved the district’s $45,156,817 budget proposal for the 2025-26 school year by a vote of 350-151, a margin of 70%.
The plan represents a spending increase of 3.84% ($1,667,842) and called for a 2.99% tax levy increase ($367,159), which was at the District’s maximum allowable levy under state law. This marks the fifth straight year that the tax levy increase was within the cap, requiring just a simple majority (more than 50%) to pass.
“We are deeply thankful to the Johnstown community for its continued support of the District’s mission, goals, and our vision to be a regional model of educational excellence for all students,” said Superintendent of Schools Dr. William Crankshaw. “The approved budget ensures we have the necessary resources to provide every student in Johnstown with a high-quality education in a safe, nurturing environment. This spending plan supports a wide range of student opportunities and reinforces our commitment to continuous improvement as outlined in the District’s Comprehensive Instructional Plan.”
