Budget & Finance

The school budget is the biggest investment the community makes with its tax dollars. District leaders work to make the most effective use of resources to benefit students, to develop and manage the budget in a responsible and transparent manner and to be accountable to taxpayers.

2026-27 Budget

On Tuesday, May 19, 2026, residents of the Greater Johnstown School District community are invited to vote on the District’s proposed budget for the 2026-2027 school year. Polls will be open from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. in the lobby of the Johnstown High School auditorium.

Proposed Budget: $47,291,679

Tax Levy Increase: 3.49% ($440,655), the sixth consecutive year the levy has remained at or below the cap, requiring a simple majority for approval.

Spending Increase: 4.73% ($2,134,862), driven primarily by debt service for ongoing capital improvements to District facilities. These costs are largely offset by increased building aid generated from prior capital projects.
