HEAT ADVISORY: GJSD to dismiss students in PK-7 early on Tuesday, June 18 & Thursday, June 20

Due to extraordinarily high temperatures expected this week and its potential impact on students’ well being and learning, students in grades PK through 7 at Pleasant Avenue, Warren Street, and Knox Middle School will be dismissed early beginning at 11:00 a.m. on both Tuesday, June 18 and Thursday, June 20. All afterschool activities including Healthy Kids are canceled.

As a reminder, all students in grades PK through 12 are not in session on Wednesday, June 19 in observance of Juneteenth.

Johnstown High School students will take Regents examinations on their regularly scheduled dates in temperature controlled/air conditioned areas. Please contact the JHS main office directly if you have any questions or concerns.

The eighth grade field trip to Water Safari remains as scheduled for Tuesday, June 18.

Families will receive a more detailed ParentSquare message from their student’s building principal about further date/time changes to end of year celebrations.
