Completed Pre-K Applications Due Friday, April 11
Open enrollment for pre-kindergarten and kindergarten students for the Greater Johnstown School District for the 2025-2026 school year is taking place now.
To be eligible to apply for pre-K, children must be four years old on or before December 1, 2025. To be eligible to register for kindergarten, children must be five years old on or before December 1, 2025. Children currently attending Johnstown as a 2024-25 pre-K student, do not need to complete the registration process for kindergarten for 2025-26.
Pre-kindergarten and kindergarten at GJSD are full day programs. There will be 54 slots available for the 2025-26 pre-K program. If more than 54 pre-K applications are received by Friday, April 11, a lottery will take place on Tuesday, April 22 at Pleasant Avenue Elementary School.
You can access application/registration packets several different ways:

- Pick up at the main office at Pleasant Avenue Elementary School:

Copies of completed pre-K application packets or kindergarten registration packets, together with required documentation (see list below) may be dropped off at the Pleasant Avenue Elementary School, located at 235 Pleasant Avenue, Johnstown, between 8:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.
Required documents:
- All completed forms from the application/registration packet
- Copies of 2 Proofs of Address (as listed in application/registration packet)
- Copy of Parent ID
- Original legal Birth Certificate (photocopy will be made at school and original returned to you)
- Immunization Record from your pediatrician
- Copy of Custody Court Order (if Applicable)
- Lead Screening Results (for pre-k applicants)
