The Purple and Gold Sports Booster Club will be selling and raffling off a number of items during the March 25 “Meet the Coaches Night” as part of its drive to raise money for new weight room equipment at JHS.
There will be t-shirts for $15 and cash raffle tickets – $5 each or five for $20. Ticket holders will have a chance to win a $200 first prize, $100 second prize, and $50 third prize.
Purple and Gold will also be raffling gift cards to Home Depot, Harvey’s, Dunkin Dounts and Classic Car wash.

Congratulations to Noah Massey, selected to receive the Foothills Council Section 2 Basketball Scholar-Athlete Award. The presentation was made at a March 10 breakfast in Troy, sponsored by News Channel 13. The event was attended by athletes from the Adirondack League, Central Hudson Valley League, Colonial Council, Independent Conference, Patroon League, Suburban Council, Wasaren League, Western Athletic Conference, and the Foothills Council.
Congratulations to senior Victor Orsell, who has been named a National Football Foundation scholar-athlete. This award recognizes young men who have excelled on the playing field, in the classroom and in the community. It was presented at a dinner hosted by the Capital District Chapter of the National Football Foundation and College Hall of Fame at the Red Lion Hotel in Albany, NY on March 4, 2019.
Congratulations to Justin Ferrara and Abby Gotung. These students have demonstrated Character, Scholarship, Leadership and Responsibility. They have worked hard on the ski course as well as in the classroom to improve and achieve at the highest academic and athletic levels.
