The Greater Johnstown School District is grateful to announce a $7,000 award from the Johnstown Hospital Foundation in support of the District’s efforts to advance community wellness and food access through its Family Resource Center, and agricultural education through the District’s AgriQuest initiative.
Johnstown Hospital Foundation board members Paul VanDenburgh and Kimberly Preston presented Superintendent of Schools Alicia D. Koster with the grant award at Johnstown High School.
The funding will support the District’s work to expand wellness-centered programming for students and families, including AgriQuest educational activities that connect students to agriculture, nutrition, sustainability, healthy living, and future career pathways. The award will also help strengthen food access and family engagement efforts through the District’s Family Resource Center, which is scheduled to open this fall.
“This generous support from the Johnstown Hospital Foundation reflects the strength of our community and our shared commitment to the health and wellness of our students and families,” said Superintendent Alicia D. Koster. “We are deeply grateful for their investment in this work. Through AgriQuest and the Family Resource Center, we are creating meaningful opportunities to connect education, nutrition, wellness, and family support in ways that will benefit our students and community for years to come.”
The Greater Johnstown School District remains committed to supporting the whole child by connecting students and families with the resources, learning experiences, and community partnerships needed to thrive.
