9th Grade & New Student Orientation

Dear Johnstown High School Student,
On behalf of the Johnstown High School faculty and staff, we are excited that you will be joining us in the fall as either a new student or a freshman. An orientation will be held for newly enrolled students, ninth grade students and their families on Tuesday, August 29, 2023 at 7:00PM in the Performing Arts Center. At orientation, you will receive your schedule for the school year and be able to tour the building. Administration, the guidance staff and members of the student council will be available to answer questions.
We believe at JHS that you should be given the opportunity to be successful. The faculty and staff will foster that environment with high expectations and standards in place. There is an excellent faculty that will care about and take the time to get to know you. Use them as part of your support system.
Communication is also important at JHS. Please make sure you share any issues or concerns with your teachers, counselors or administrators before they become a major distraction to your education.
The first day of school is Wednesday, September 6, 2023. Students will report directly to their assigned homerooms by 7:45 a.m.
