Open Swim expanded to Tuesdays & Saturdays starting February 24 and continuing through Memorial Day
The Greater Johnstown School District is excited to announce an expansion of Community Swim Program opportunities at the JHS pool starting Tuesday, February 24 and continuing through Memorial Day weekend.
Beginning after February break (Feb. 16-20) , Open Swim hours will expand to include Tuesdays from 6 – 8 p.m., in addition to the regularly scheduled Saturdays from 9 – 11 a.m. The first Tuesday Open Swim will take place on Tuesday, February 24.
Please note that the pool is not open to the community when school is not in session. As such, Community Swim will not be available during Spring Break, including April 4, 7, and 11.
The final Community Swim date for the season will be Tuesday, May 19, ahead of Memorial Day weekend.
A reminder of rules and age restrictions:
– Use the back entrance of JHS by the pool/bus loop and sign in with a school attendant
– The program will not run when school is not in session or if campus is closed due to inclement weather
– Children 12 and under must be accompanied by an adult.
– Toddlers and younger must wear swimming diapers in the pool.
– You are allowed to bring in your own swimming aides (swimmies and other devices that are intended to help you stay afloat and swim). Pool floats are prohibited.
