Warren St. Newsletter September 2020

September Newsletter Welcome Back to School

We are excited to welcome back Warren St. students!  I encourage all parents to get involved in the Johnstown School District.  Join the Johnstown Elementary PTA and/or the Warren St. Building Planning Team.  This year we will be sending updates through Parent Square.

Just a reminder, school starts at 9:00 am.  It is very important to have your child to school on time and ready to learn.  Breakfast is served from 8:30 am until 8:55 am and announcements will begin at 8:55 am.  If your child will be staying home sick, please call the office at 518-762-3715.  Dismissal will start at 3:00 for walkers and riders.  Bus students will be called when their bus arrives.  Students should not congregate on campus before or after school hours.

If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to contact me by phone or email at rkraemer@johnstownschools.org.

Arrival

All elementary buildings will open doors at 8:30 am.  There is NO supervision for students prior to 8:30 am. Do not drop off students prior to 8:30 am. Students arriving by car, bike, or walking will enter through the first door by the car loop on the side of the building.  Bus students will enter through doors on the front of the building:  3rd and 6th graders will enter the doors closest to the main office and 4th and 5th will enter the next set of doors down.  All students will have their temperature taken before entering the building.  Announcements will begin at 8:55 am.  Arrivals after 9:00 a.m. must be signed in at the front door main office and receive a late pass. Arriving at school on time will help your child be prepared for the day of learning ahead. Students need time in the morning to hang up their belongings, get their materials ready, and get settled into their day.

Dismissal

Dismissal for students begins at 3:00 pm.  At 3:00, students who are getting picked up or walking home are dismissed. Students who are riding the bus will remain in their classrooms until their bus arrives (Attendance will be taken before getting on the bus).

We do not have supervision after 3:30 for students on school property, all students must be supervised by a parent or guardian after that time. Students should not congregate on campus before or after school hours.
