A Note from Our Principal

Dear Warren Street Families,

I am so excited to welcome everyone back to Warren Street School.  Our students are adjusting and getting used to their new routine and new classrooms. It is so great to see students in the halls again, with smiles on their faces! We have welcomed many new staff members to our team, and I hope everyone can make it to our Open House to meet them and see the wonderful things going on in our classrooms already.

As always, if you have any questions or concerns regarding your child(ren), please do not hesitate to contact me!

Yours in Learning,

Mrs. Nikki Lent, Principal

Don’t Forget: New this year

We are following an A-F schedule this year!  Refer to the calendar with the days listed on it.

Our new  main entrance is in the center of the building.  We have a secure vestibule with our buzzer system into the main      office.  Please make sure you do not park your car in front of the office, however, this is a bus zone!

Absences and Late Arrivals

New York State Education Law requires parents to provide a WRITTEN excuse, signed by a parent or guardian, when a student is absent, tardy, or leaving school early.

Please send an excuse to school with your child if he/she needs to be dismissed early, is tardy, or on the day your child returns to school after being absent.

Please be sure to call the school if your child is going to be absent.  You may leave a voice-mail message if you call before school hours start.  Also, parents/guardians must sign-in/out students when arriving late or leaving early.

Arrival and Dismissal

Attendance is taken and instruction begins each morning, promptly at 9:00 a.m. It is very important that your child is on time, attends school every day, is well rested, and has a positive attitude. These things will contribute to the success of your child this year. Students are encouraged to arrive to school after 8:30. Breakfast begins at 8:30.  If your child is not eating breakfast, they will be directed different locations by grade level to visit with friends or read a book, and released to their classrooms at 8:45 a.m.

Our dismissal procedure begins at 3:10 pm. In order to alleviate congestion, parents picking up students are asked to please wait outside. When picking up or dropping off your child, it is imperative that all traffic and parking laws are obeyed for the safety of our students.

If you have any questions regarding these rules, please do not hesitate to contact the school.

Students riding bicycles to school must wear a helmet, and bike locks would also be useful. Please contact the school if you are unable to provide your child with a helmet.
