“The Zombie” at JHS Nov. 9, 10 & 11
The Johnstown High School Drama Club provides a comedy thriller with Tim Kelly’s “The Zombie.” The production plays this Friday and Saturday at 7:30 p.m. and Sunday at 2:00 p.m. at the Johnstown High School auditorium.
Into this eerie setting come three young people, intentionally diverted into the swamp. Nervously sarcastic Rosemary Lee (an emotional Gina Franko), fearless TV producer Adam Connors (a solid performance by Jacob Frenyea) and hoity soap opera star Vivian Garth (a panic-stricken Emily Long) each find themselves pitted against voodooism, hypnotism, and the Walking Dead.
Also, populating this bizarre atmosphere is the carny voodoo artist/housekeeper (an impressively exotic Isabella Dittmer), a new unsuspecting victim (guileful Bella Collar) and the zombies (ghastly portrayals by Alexx Fountain and Anastasija Morse).
The Stage Crew (Emily Wheelis, Cecil Radalin, Katie Diener, Emily Dingman, Carena Biddle, Marissa Hayes, Peyton Bush and Adrianne Airey) have created the scenery depicting a decrepit mansion in the Okefenokee Swamp of northern Florida.
