Storybook Writing Contest Winners

As part of an annual contest sponsored by The Friends of the Johnstown Public Library, Knox seventh graders were challenged last year to create storybooks for children aged three to seven. This year, as eighth graders, the contest winners were invited to read those books to an audience of preschoolers at the library.

Congratulations to the following Knox students, whose entries were selected based on the originality of the story, its appeal to children, and the creativity of the illustrations:

  • First Place Tie
    • Konner Mancini for “The Bunny Named Pickle”
    • Kevin Rankins-Bloom for “The Adventures of Pengie and Jack”
  • Second Place
    • Larkin Sardella for “Jimmy’s Big Fight”
  • Third Place
    • Alex Cwiakala for “Paul the Porcupine Finds Friends”
  • Fourth Place
    • Peyton Bush for “The Spell”
  • Honorable Mention
    • Madison King for “Jake’s Socks”
