On Friday, December 12, sixth graders traveled from Warren Street to Pleasant Avenue to help kindergarten and pre-school buddies write letters to Santa. As everyone knows, when you are “making a list,” you need to be “checking it twice” – and having a buddy to help you with this is really quite nice!
In the morning, sixth graders from Mrs. Hartlieb’s, Mrs. Flander’s, and Mrs. Swartwout’s classes spent time buddying up with kindergartners from Ms. Salatel’s, Ms. Jones’ and Mrs. Roehl’s rooms, as well as Mrs. Hale’s and Ms. Papa’s AM pre-k students.
In the afternoon, sixth graders from Mr. McCullough’s and Mrs. Heroth’s classes buddied up with students from Mrs. Livingstone’s, Mrs. Quinn’s, Mrs. Toscano’s and Ms. Nellis’ classes, together with the PM pre-k students from Mrs. Hale’s and Ms. Papa’s rooms.
Once the letters were finished and ready for mailing to the North Pole, the buddies spent time together coloring or making holiday cards and crafts. To cap off the day, as the sixth graders prepared to head back to Warren Street, Ms. Jones’ students sang “We Wish you A Merry Christmas.”
Happy Holidays everyone!
