On Friday, July 3, 2020, Governor Andrew Cuomo issued Executive Order 202.47, providing for a school budget revote on July 28, 2020 in districts where the original budget proposal was not approved by voters during the June 9, 2020 election as canvassed on June 16, 2020.
In Person Voting
The Greater Johnstown School District will conduct its school budget revote on Tuesday, July 28, 2020, at the Johnstown Junior-Senior High School, where the polls will be open for in-person voting from 11:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. All persons entering school premises must observe social distancing protocols and wear a mask or face covering.
If you are unable to vote in person, you may be eligible to apply for an absentee ballot. In accordance with Executive Order 202.47, due to the prevalence and community spread of COVID-19, the potential for contraction of the COVID-19 virus shall be deemed a temporary illness for the purpose of eligibility to vote as an absentee voter in a school budget revote held on July 28, 2020.
Who May Vote
You may vote if:
- You are a U.S. Citizen;
- You are at least 18 years of age;
- You are a resident of the school district for at least 30 days before the vote;
- You are not disqualified by any reason set forth in NYS Election Law Section 5-106; and
