Officer Johnson and Officer Jones from the Johnstown Police Department came to school recently to talk to third grade students in Mrs. Cox’s and Ms. O’Keefe’s classes about what police officers do for the community, how they protect and serve. The visit tied into a study unit on local heroes, and students loved meeting them, learning from them and getting to see a patrol car. On October 2 the classes walked down to the station, took a tour from Sgt. Stevens and Officer Walters, and gave them some writing pieces the students made.
The students had a great time, and the JPD was wonderful and accommodating!
