Police deem threat at PTECH not credible

On Tuesday, March 6, the Johnstown Police Department began an investigation into what they later deemed to be a non-credible threat made against the Hamilton Fulton Montgomery BOCES PTECH program ¬†housed inside Johnstown’s Jansen Avenue School.

The police department launched its investigation after a student reported the threat to school administration.

Following protocol, a “hold in place” was initiated shortly after 12:30 p.m. to allow police to search the school. Students were allowed to return to their regular activities a short time later.

Police took the student who allegedly made the threat into custody, and their investigation is ongoing.
