This morning New York State Assemblyman Marc Butler, his assistant Dottie MacVean, and Belle Bruse from the VFW Auxiliary attended morning program at Pleasant Avenue to accept a donation for Trees for Troops. This program sends Christmas trees to soldiers overseas and to military families. Since 2005, more than 157,000 real Christmas trees have been provided.
Kindergarten teacher Mari Jo Quinn organized the drive at Pleasant Avenue. Principal Michelle Gabree Huba said “We not only teach our students academics but try to instill good character as well. We hope our youngsters will grow into adults that give back to the community.”
