Principal’s Corner

Dear Families,

This month Pleasant Avenue will be focusing on books written by Eric Carle for PARP (Pick a Reading Partner).  We are encouraging students and families to read Eric Carle books and complete AR tests. A reading BINGO sheet was sent home for you to complete with your child.  Students who bring the completed BINGO sheet to the Literacy Night on March 14th will be able to pick a special prize. Teachers’ doors will be decorated with different Eric Carle titles and students will be able to guess the title. We hope you can join us for an evening full of Eric Carle activities.

We are at 1283 AR test points towards our 2500 goal for the AR Carnival in June. Keep reading with your child and remind them to take the AR tests at school.

Yankee Candle fundraiser will be going home on March 11th.

Later this month, the Adirondack Museum will be   visiting Pleasant Avenue with hands on exhibits for the children.

Please feel free to contact me at anytime.
