Odyssey Teams Advancing to States
Johnstown’s Odyssey of the Mind program enjoyed another successful season in its third year with the program.
Fourteen Johnstown teams competed at the Regional competition on March 10th and five of them are advancing to the State competition at Binghamton University on April 7th.
Johnstown had the largest number of students participating in Regionals of any school in our area. Mrs. Meashaw & Mrs. Sweeney, district coordinators, report that they were very proud to see the students represent with enthusiasm and great team spirit.
Glebe Street School had three teams trying the Odyssey program for the first time. Teams from Warren Street School totaled seven this year, while Knox had four teams participating. All students should be commended for their dedication, creativity, and teamwork. A huge thank you to all of the volunteer coaches and parents that make this program possible!
Odyssey of the Mind teams and their families are invited to an end of season celebration on Monday, March 26 at the Warren Street Cafeteria (6:30-7:30pm). Students and coaches will be recognized, dessert will be served, and a photo slideshow will be shared.
Competition will be stiff at the State level competition at Binghamton University on April 7th, where teams that placed at the top of their Region will meet. Please wish the five Johnstown teams pictured below the best of luck as they prepare for this statewide event!
