Your Voice Matters

Thank you everyone for taking part in our communication survey.  We had 240 responses and we will use this information to help improve communication with all stakeholders. We will be answering all the questions that you had for us in the upcoming weeks. Here are a few questions regarding everyday procedures that we wanted to get out to you right away.

Q-Can more information be posted online well in advance of events happening so parents can plan ahead?

A-Yes. Knox News will have important dates included in every issue for the entire month. The Knox News is posted on the Knox Website and will be posted on Facebook. New this year, we will also be sending home a hard copy with your child. Survey results showed that 40% of our parents prefer the backpack letters. So be on the lookout!!

Q-Since my daughter’s father and myself have split up and I do not reside in Johnstown is it possible to have a copy of all sent home letters emailed/mailed to me?

A- Providing there is no documentation limiting or forbidding the release of student information to a particular parent/guardian/other family member, a request can be made by contacting the school to obtain copies of letters and other information.

Q-Will there be homework club?

A-Yes, everyday after school until 3:00. Mrs. Blackwood will be in room #3 for all students interested. If they take the bus and need to ride the late bus, they must get a bus pass from the main office and will go to Glebe St Elementary @ 3pm to get on the late bus.

Q-How can I better see the schedules for sports?

A- Or go to the Athletics page of the district website

Q-Sports Study Hall?

A-Sports Study Hall is for all athletes who are remaining on campus after school while waiting for their practice or game to start. Our school day ends at 2:10 and the majority of the practices do not start until 3:00. This gives our students the opportunity to complete work and be in a safe location until their practice starts. Sports Study Hall is from 2:10 -3:00 in the cafeteria and homework club is in room #3.

Q-Do you have and how do we sign up for Parent Portal?

A-Yes we do and we recommend using it.

Parent Portal Request/Update Form link.

We posted directions how to navigate Parent Portal on Facebook and you can also get them from the link below:

If you are still having trouble with the portal, we will have people available to assist you with this at Open House on Wednesday October 3rd @ 6:00 pm here at Knox.
