Our K-2 students at Pleasant Avenue Elementary School will participate in the Great Kindness Challenge next week, and we hope that our GJSD community will consider joining them!
The initiative encourages students and families to take part in an uplifting week of positivity, as they look to create a culture of kindness and compassion in their community.
Not sure how to get started? No problem – here are 10 really simple ideas of how YOU can join in on the Great Kindness Challenge (and they’re all FREE!):
➤ Smile at 25 people
➤ Entertain someone with a spontaneous happy dance
➤ Draw a heart or a kind message in the snow
➤ Hold the door open for someone
➤ Say “hi” to someone who looks sad
➤ Write a thank you note for your local police department, health care workers, fire department, librarian or mail carrier!
➤ Call your grandparents
➤ Give someone a compliment
➤ Help a neighbor shovel their driveway
➤ Go a full day without complaining
Pleasant Avenue will also participate in a Kindness-themed Spirit Week next week.
Please share your acts of kindness with us. Post pictures of your family’s acts of kindness and your children dressed up for Spirit Week to Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram using the hashtag, #PleasantAvenueKindnessChallenge
