Members of the Greater Johnstown School District community are invited to nominate GJSD employees for public recognition through the district’s new ABCD Award.
The ABCD Award, which is an acronym for “Above and Beyond the Call of Duty,” will be presented to three nominated employees each quarter throughout the school year. Any member of the school community — students, parents, residents and district employees — can nominate individuals through a form on the district website. Nominations are anonymous, unless the nominator provides his or her name in the nomination form.
“Johnstown employees go above and beyond the call of duty every day, but they don’t always get the public recognition they deserve,” said interim Superintendent Dr. Karen Geelan. “Through the ABCD Award, we have the opportunity to thank them for the work they do and share the stories about how they are making a difference in the lives of our students with the entire community.”
Geelan will provide each ABCD Award winner with a token gift that is not purchased with district funds. Winners will be announced on the district website, and all nominated employees will receive a copy of their nominations.
