JHS Seniors are Registering to Vote!

This week Johnstown High School seniors have been learning about voting and registering to vote as part of Government, Economics and Mentoring (G.E.M.) and Advanced Placement Politics Leadership and Economics (A.P.P.L.E.) classes. Already over 60 students have registered to vote!

Residents who wish to participate in the Johnstown School District’s May 15, 2018 budget vote and Board of Education elections, or the June 5, 2018 public library vote, must be registered to vote. You can check the status of your school voter registration here:

If you need to register, or if you need to make changes to your name or address, NYS Voter Registration Forms are available on the NYS Board of Elections site. Be sure to mail or hand deliver the completed form to your County Board of Elections Office at least 25 days before the election you want to vote in. The county will notify you when your registration is complete.

Residents may also register to vote in Johnstown school and library elections (but not federal or state elections) by coming to the school district’s Voter Registration Day between 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on May 1, 2018 and May 22, 2018 in the high school auditorium lobby. Photo ID and proof of residence are required.
