Message from the Principal

February 2020

Dear  Families,

It is hard to believe that we are already approaching February! Quarter two has come to an end and report cards are coming home on Friday (1/31). This means the school year is half  over;  I am proud of the students’ success so far and encourage them to keep working hard. We have a short month with February vacation the 17th – 21st.  With  that said, attendance is extremely important to  your child’s success and we miss them when they are not here!

Please continue to encourage your child to read! Our next Literacy (AR) Night is February 13th  from  6-7  p.m. We also  invite you  to our  Morning Program on February 13th at 9:20  a.m.  On February 14th, third grade students will have the opportunity to learn more about  animal  adaptations as  we  welcome back Adirondack  Experience through the Museum on Blue Mountain Lake. They will return in the  spring to work with our second  grade students.

Please  remember to send  your child with winter clothing, as they will go outside each  day when  the  temperature is above twenty degrees. Students should have  a coat, snow pants, boots, mittens/gloves, and a hat.  If your child is in need of a coat, gloves or a hat please contact the nurse, Mrs. Ruggeri. Also, our lost and found has collected an abundance of items, please remind your child to look for anything they are missing.

In closing, it is very important that the left lane of the loop in the parking lot is not used for  parking  or waiting for your child.  Not only does this make it impossible for people to move  through the parking lot at  pick-up and drop-off, should we need to get  emergency vehicles through, they need  a clear path. Please pull  your vehicle into a parking space.

We hope to see you soon at Glebe!

Best Regards,

Christina Lais, Interim Principal
