The Johnstown Elementary PTA and the Johnstown Junior Senior High School PTSA are proud to be hosting the annual Founder’s Day Banquet on June 10 at Hales Mills Country Club. This event will honor both the 2020 and 2021 Founder’s Day award recipients.
Founder’s Day is a reminder of the substantial role PTA & PTSAs have played locally, regionally, and nationally in supporting parent involvement and working on behalf of all children and families. It is a time to take pride in our accomplishments, renew our commitment to be a powerful voice for all children, be a relevant resource for parents, and be a strong advocate for public education.
Each year the PTA/PTSA awards three different awards at Founder’s Day. The awards and a description regarding them are as follows:
- Building Level Founder’s Day Award
This award is given to an individual who unselfishly gives their time and energy to the children of our schools above and beyond what is expected. Awards are given to members of each building. Individuals selected may be teachers, staff members, PTSA members (including students), or anyone who gives their time and energy to help students at our school.
- City-Wide Award
This award is given to an individual who has distinguished him/herself in service to the children of the Johnstown community. This honoree is given State PTA Honorary Membership.
- Mischael Boyer Award
This award is given to a community member who has specifically helped raise the self-esteem among the youth of the Johnstown community.
If you would like to nominate a deserving individual to be recognized with a Founder’s Day award, please complete a Founder’s Day Nomination Form and return it in a sealed envelope marked “Founder’s Day” to your home school building no later than Friday April 23, 2021.
