Students in Freshmen Academy are currently learning about DNA and how it is used to assist in solving crimes. Officer Eric Johnson from the Johnstown Police Department came to visit and shared with students how crime scenes are treated. He was able to provide them with information about the technologies used when scenes are processed by officers. The students are now assuming the roles of creative writers such as in shows like CSI. They will be creating their own realistic fiction stories that include how DNA is collected and used to solve crimes.
