Our annual elementary foul shooting contest took place on Saturday, March 11, at Warren Street.
As part of physical education classes at Glebe and Warren, students participated in a basketball unit, learning the fundamentals of basketball and participating in a foul shooting contest with their classmates. The winners of the class contests were then invited to compete in a district contest at Warren Street on March 11. Roughly 70 students competed in the district contest. The winners made anywhere from five to nine out of 10 foul shots. The future of Johnstown’s basketball programs is looking bright!
This years winners are:
- Grade 3: Baylee Cooper and Cole Downing
- Grade 4: Casey Lamori and Devin Ward
- Grade 5: Isabell Ropeter and Kaden Chittenden
- Grade 6: Ayaka Sasaki and Branden Jones
We would like to extend a thank you to Mrs. Tarbox and Mrs. Blanchard for helping out, as well as our JHS basketball players: Chelsea Cirillo, Claire Guzielek, Brandon Mraz, Chano Cross, Abe Miller, Trey Stover, Austin Fullington, Matthew Boyle, Joe MAtthews and Adam Wilson.
