Dear Parents & Caregivers,
The holiday season is just around the corner, and the
month of November brings the holiday that celebrates
families, thankfulness and hope. Thanksgiving is a great
time for reflection and to remember those around us who
have made a positive impact on our lives.
The Jansen Avenue community has many of those people who
make a difference for our children. Our PTA just hosted a
terrific Fall Festival celebration where families could
come and celebrate the season with activities and games in
a safe and festive environment. The first weekend of the
month is our Pancake Breakfast at the Moose Lodge, which
is both a family celebration and an important fundraiser
for our school.
Our faculty and staff here at Jansen show caring and love
to our students on a daily basis. The cafeteria staff
always greets students with a smile. They are patient and
kind and gently teach our boys and girls about “please”
and “thank you.” The teachers, assistants and aides hold
our students to the highest standards. They work daily to
promote a strong work ethic and will not accept anything
less than “best work” from their students. The office
staff makes sure that the day runs smoothly, and they
handle a variety of issues, including absences and
sick kids. Students who come to the office are treated
with respect and kindness.
The boys and girls of Jansen Avenue are some of the
sweetest kids you will ever meet. They freely share hugs
and smiles with adults and take great pride in a job well
done. They are, absolutely, worth the effort!
November is a month for reflection and thanks. As we look
ahead to the big holiday season, let’s catch our breath
and enjoy the small miracles that happen each day. We do
have much reason to give thanks.
Wishing you all a happy and peaceful Thanksgiving holiday!
Very sincerely,
Ms. Colleen Lester |
