Wow! I know you’ve heard it before but this year flew by! As my first year as a principal ends, I’d like to give thanks to the people who have made my time at Jansen memorable:

The kids: These kids are great! The daily smiles and hugs can really make a dark day bright.  Every day I was able to smile because of Jansen students. They are a group of amazingly smart, talented and loving boys and girls. They readily welcomed me into their school and their lives, for that I am ever grateful. 

The faculty and staff: From the main office to the boiler room---Jansen has a great staff. As the children did, they made me feel welcome and we quickly became a team. Mrs. Simek and Ms. Coons made sure that things in the office ran smoothly whenever I faltered or wasn’t sure what to do. The teachers and staff have been incredible in their acceptance of me as their principal. They have been patient, understanding and supportive all year long. 

The parents and community: I am blessed to work with such an amazing group of parents. The huge events that are put on by our PTA are astounding. They have never said no to a request and have come through for this school innumerable times. This is a community with a true heart willing to do anything for the good of its children. 

Johnstown School District and the Board of Education: The continued support at the district level has been crucial to a successful first year.
