Teachers Association (PTA)
The Parent Teachers’ Association (PTA) of Jansen Avenue
Elementary School is an organization that promotes the
following:

The welfare of children and youth in home, school,
community and place of worship.

To raise the standards of home life.
-
To secure adequate laws for the care and protection
of children and youth.

To bring into closer relation the home and school,
that parents and teachers may cooperate
intelligently in the education of children and
youth.
-
To develop between educators and the general public
such united efforts as well as secure for all
children and youth the highest advantages in
physical, mental, social and spiritual education.

Shared Decision Making
(SDM)
The
Shared Decision Making (SDM) is a process in
which all members of the Greater Johnstown School
District collaborate in identifying problems, defining
goals, formulating procedures, and implementing programs
by consensus to help students reach a level of
excellence. The committee is comprised of the principal,
teachers, support staff and parents. Our goal is
to increase students’ understanding of and realization
of their potential by implementing Shared Decision
Making programs and activities.
