STOP and Pick Up a Book at Johnstown High
School’s BookCrossing Zone
Students in Mrs. Bacon’s World Literature class have
established Johnstown High School as a BookCrossing
zone. The World Literature class has partnered with
School Librarian Dylan Thomarie, to register Johnstown
High School’s library as a zone for people to acquire
traveling books.
The idea behind BookCrossing is to read a book, register
it at
www.bookcrossing.com, journal a review of the book,
and then release the book anywhere for others to enjoy.
Sometimes books are left in coffee shops, on park
benches, or stationary places such as Johnstown High
School. It’s simple — pick up a book and read it,
journal it, and pass it on.
Students Kaileen Balzano, Jillian Davis, Jeremi
Ferguson, Marge Henderson, Katie Isabella, Alyssa
Johnson, Veronica Kelly, Salina Cook, Ian Quinn, John
Rustin, Chelsea Siver and Shannon Walsh all registered
JHS library as a zone for students and community book
hunters to pick up a traveling book. Students can view
the path of their book online — it could be anywhere in
the country, or even anywhere in the world!
Any community member looking to read a traveling book
can see what books are stationed at the Johnstown High
School library online at
www.bookcrossing.com. If you choose to read a book,
stop at the High School library and pick it up.
