Financial Aid Day Extremely Helpful to College Bound Students
The State University of New York is hosting its fifth annual Statewide Student Financial Aid Days on Saturday, January 26, 2008, and Saturday, February 2, 2008.

SUNY’s Statewide Student Financial Aid Day is designed to answer questions and provide assistance regarding the financial aid application, the types of aid available and the award process.

A total of thirty SUNY campuses across New York State will offer financial aid workshops. A number of participating campuses will also provide hands-on assistance from SUNY Financial aid professionals in completing the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). Copies of the FAFSA will be available. Web access to complete the FAFSA will be offered on some campuses.

FMCC will be hosting this workshop on Saturday, February 2, 2008. For more information or questions about this day please call the college at 736-5301 or send an email to
finaid.mail@fmcc.suny.edu.

Students should register early online at www.suny.edu/student or by calling the SUNY Recruitment Response Center at 1-800-342-3811. Host campuses will confirm by mail or email with registrants and provide program details including specific workshops to be offered, time, location and parking instructions.

In order to receive any financial aid assistance from colleges you must file a FAFSA.

Web access to complete the online FAFSA will be offered on some campuses to those who have pre-registered for a U.S. Department of Education PIN at
www.pin.ed.gov. You will also be required to bring certain documentation to complete the FAFSA online.

Whether you are planning to attend a SUNY school or a private college, these financial aid days are offered as a service to ALL prospective college students and their families. So don’t delay, register today.
