Leader Awards
In
a ceremony at Hudson Valley Community College on May 4, 24
Greater Johnstown School District students were recognized
by the Capital Zone of the New York State Association of
Health, Physical Education, Recreation and Dance with the
Sandy Morley Physical Education Leadership Award. They
were among more than 600 students from 37 school districts
nominated for excellence in physical education and
outstanding leadership characteristics, including
demonstrating responsible personal and social behaviors,
sportsmanship and citizenship. Attending the
ceremony with the students and their parents were teachers
Cyndi Cromer, Julianna Frederick and Colleen Tabor.
The following Johnstown students were
recognized:
Glebe Street Elementary:
Emily Colasanti, Morgan Coons, Sophia Hayes, Michael
Bevington, Patrick Carville and Chris Geleta.
Jansen Avenue Elementary:
Korrin DiMartino, Elizabeth Willett, Julia Woodard, David
Ambrosino, Stephen Forker and Anthony Mowrey.
Pleasant Avenue Elementary:
Megan Anagnostopulos, Hunter Duesler, Madison Smrtic,
Jonathan Heroth, Tyler Johnson and Brandon Oathout.
Warren Street Elementary:

Pattern Changes
Please note, there is no longer a thoroughfare between
Pearl Street and Wright Drive. For fall and spring
sports contests at the high school athletic fields, or
to reach the swimming pool, use the Wright Drive
entrance. For winter sports contests in the high school
gymnasium, use the Pearl Street entrance.
Pick-up &
Drop-Off Locations for Student Athletes
Pick-up of athletic teams will take place in front of
the high school on the island at the edge of the circle.
Return drop-off will take place behind the high school,
at the end of Wright Drive. Parents should plan on
picking-up their children in this area.

Events At Knox Field,

Be Aware of the Following Rules for Spectators:
Events at
Knox Field are enjoyed by students, faculty and members of
our community. All spectators should be aware
of the following guidelines:
No Bicycles on Knox property. You will be asked to leave.
No Skateboards. You will be asked to leave.
No Dogs. You will be asked to leave.
While watching athletic events all spectators must remain to
the right of the stairs to the lower level and the field
except to use the rest room in the field house.
No one is to be on the playground at any time.
Please be respectful to the others that are watching the
game.
Horseplay on the hill will not be tolerated.
For the
safety of all, people should refrain from playing, sliding
or engaging in any other activity on the hill. Parents are
expected to supervise their children. Police at
Knox events are instructed to ask minors who fail to follow
this rule to sit with their parents. If the inappropriate behavior continues, the offenders
may be asked to leave the event.
