NYSAHPERD Morley Award Winners Recognized
Twenty-four
Greater Johnstown School District students were recognized
by the Capital Zone of the New York State Association of
Health, Physical Education, Recreation and Dance with the
Sandy Morley Physical Education Leadership Award. The
students received their awards in a ceremony held on
Monday, May 7, 2012, at Hudson Valley Community College.
More than six hundred students from thirty-seven school
districts were recognized for excellence in physical
education and outstanding leadership characteristics. Six
students from each of Johnstown's three elementary
schools, together with six from Knox Junior High, were
nominated by their physical education teachers to receive
the award. In addition to many parents, physical education
instructors Mrs. Cyndi Cromer, Mrs. Colleen Froschauer and
Mr. Robert Kraemer attended, to see the following students
be honored:
Glebe Street Elementary: Abigail Baker, EmilyClizbe,
Mallary Dillenbeck, Abigail Levin, Christian Solby and
Nicholas Stillwell
Pleasant Avenue Elementary: Heidi Chamberlain,
Josephine Mowrey, Lauryn Wilson, Zachary Dunnkosky, Jacob
Miller and Peter VanDenburgh
Warren Street Elementary: Emily Everest, Tara
Kilmartin, Alison Trajlinek, Austin Fullington, Isaac
Nguyen and Garrett Way
Knox Junior High School: Allison Hanmer*, Molly
Morrison*, Lexus Williams, Stephen Camarra, Jacob
Cerasuolo* and Jamal Vasquez*
