Great Day for Johnstown Track & Field at Eddy Meet

Great Day for Johnstown Track & Field at Eddy Meet

On Saturday, May 21, several Johnstown Track & Field athletes competed at the 76th Annual William F. Eddy Jr. Memorial Track and Field Meet. Only the top 40 qualifying times and distances are able to compete in this meet.

The Eddy meet has been described as “one of the biggest little meets in the empire state, that provides great races at an unbelievable pace and some of the best action the state has seen all year due to the steep qualifying standards, which guarantee anyone who runs deserved to be there.”

Johnstown sent a 100m hurdler, four athletes in the 400m hurdles, a thrower, a high jumper, a triple jumper, a sprinter in the 100m dash, both boys and girls 4x100m relay teams, and the girls 4x400m relay. All athletes competed at a high level and were able to come home with new personal best records.

Junior Nick Frasier put Johnstown on the scoreboard. He placed fourth overall, scoring four points and jumping a height of six feet.

It was a great day for Johnstown Track and Field!

Johnstown Baseball Shows Support

Johnstown’s varsity baseball team stepped off the field and into the bleachers on May 10 to cheer on the players in the Gloversville Little League Challenger Division. Serving Fulton, Montgomery and Hamilton counties, the challenger division provides the opportunity for physically limited children, or those with emotional/mental health/intellectual disabilities, to play baseball in a non-competitive, nurturing environment. It was the first baseball game of the season for the challenger division players.
